The Northern part of Ghana to seeks bring culture and tradition to its utmost best in the upcoming annual Danjuar festival of the entire Bimoba people in Kpikpira in the Upper East region,Bunkpurugu and Nankpaduri in the Northeast region of Ghana.
Danjuar is a symbolic occasion instituted to celebrate the victory of the Turinwe group of ancient Songai Empire over the defeat of their enemies dating back to the 17th centuries where their lives were secured by the “Dan-Juar” meaning dependable mountain in Bimoba language.
This year’s celebration will bring together the chiefs and people of Bimoba and dignitaries including the Vice-president of Ghana, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Kinsford Bagbin and the Minority Leader, Hon. Haruna Iddrissu on the theme “Development of Bimoba Land”.
